Very curious about this. If you haven't paid attention, Blaze has kinda built the Evercade into a seriously viable little platform with a range of hardware and like 700 games all on carts. New games, emulation, ports etc and all at a low price. It's super cool stuff!
All will be revealed March 31st at 4pm BST, 11am EDT and 8am PDT. Make sure you're subscribed to our YouTube and hit the notifications bell to be alerted when our announcement goes live! https://www.youtube.com/@EvercadeRetro?sub_confirmation=1

This is fascinating. Trip Hawkins gives Nintendo credit for "establishing the fact that consumers want interactive entertainment at home" while also criticizing them (to applause from the crowd) for having "rules that have to do with how they do business that some of us don't feel comfortable with."
Our favorite pick from the CGDC 1989 collection is The Publishers' Panel, featuring real talk from executives at major US computer game publishers. Here's Trip Hawkins, getting candid about how Nintendo was reshaping the game business in 1989: archive.gamehistory.org/folder/cb766...

RIP to Jesse Jackson. His funeral is today. I wanted to share this clip from his appearance on Sesame Street in 1971. His important words ring just as true today as they did back then.

📆 ON THIS DAY in 2006 • 20 years ago! 😮 @8bitpeoples.bsky.social releases Information Chase, 6 mp3s of chiptune powerpop. It's since come out on CD & vinyl, & I've performed its songs to audiences who have loudly sung along, despite there being no words. What could be more heartwarming than that? 🙏
Raytheon Executive: I know you’re skeptical about buying American again. But hear me out. The MIM-104 Patriot is the only surface to air missile system with a proven track record of success against the US Air Force. Danish Defense Minister: Continue.

As I get older I actively squash most "the old days were better" feelings like they're intrusive thoughts, but the old internet was an objectively better place, full of actual people making things just for the joy of creation. I'm understanding now why older generations don't stfu about the 1960s.
