The French and, say, Norway are not only our neighbours but our friends. Our political future lies with them not with an unreliable administration on the other side of the Atlantic.

Andy Burnham has a chance to fix our broken political system now, before it is too late. Introduce proportional representation, give everyone an equal vote and an equal voice in our democracy, and make sure no politician or political party can afford to take them for granted ever again.
