he/him Minneapolis, MN. This is my home, I’m a local
It makes no sense for the police to be allowed to do this. But if we’re going to do it, let’s let another dept have a turn. I propose public works gets as much money as they can spend in the interest of safety - walk/bike/traffic calming infrastructure.
no other city department can just spend what they want and tell the city after the fact that the money is spent and gone
Hey Minneapolis. Can someone explain it to me like I’m an idiot: why is MPD allowed to just spend money they don’t have and then say “we’re over budget.” And there’s never any questions that the city has to pay?
Sometimes you’ll be at the grocery store and look up to see the customer at the next check out over is wearing a bright pink shirt and taking up the entire back of the shirt is a full color photo of the sexy lady gremlin from gremlins 2
Everyone trying to dunk on Jonah Hill here fucking sucks. “I will kick your ass if you call me the fat guy, I am not the fat guy anymore” is absolutely how men will respond in our fat phobic culture. And yes everyone that’s called him the fat guy for 20 years fucking sucks too
He will never understand that being "the fat guy from Superbad" is infinitely better than being "the martial arts chud nobody likes"
Cheryl wearing a “Trans Kids Belong” shirt, Olivia Miles making Caitlin Clark look silly on defense and the roar of boos whenever Cunningham touches the ball is making this trans athlete very emotional 😭 🏳️⚧️ I love this city and I love our Lynx
Cheryl Reeve’s shirt today:
What’s the real story with this whole thing? A man pretending to be a landlord hired an artist to paint a building that wasn’t his. That nobody knows who or why. And the actual owner was pissed. The artist met with some guy, has messages from him, and got paid. He says.
Impersonating a Property Owner, a Man Paid an Artist to Paint a Cookie Monster Mural in Peoria. The Town—and the Internet—Have Questions
The mural was painted over by the building's owner swiftly. But the case has fascinated the town—and the internet.

What's your personal great white whale of an unsolved mystery? The thing you desperately hope is solved before you die because you need to know the answer? Mine is the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum heist. Where the hell are the Rembrandts. I need the full story
Physical media forever. You never know when it will disappear from streamers. No more Marty Beller Mask
I can't be sure, but...I think this is advertising a chance for a five-way with elderly quadruplets?
cops are the definition of anti-union.
Scabs being protected by cops
I’ve got one relative I’ve cut off and it’s because she’s so miserable and mean and unapologetic that I decided the pain and guilt of cutting off family is better than the pain of having her in my life
I wish mayors would correctly identify the police chief as a subordinate that is trying to sabotage them and treat them as such. The chief of police is not the mayor’s peer or friend. Even trying to be friendly and develop a relationship is going to be used against you.
I’m happy this guy considers himself part of the Twin Cities but I think I can answer the question he says “we” should be asking: residents of Prescott, Wisconsin paid zero of their dollars to build Metro Transit’s light-rail system, and pay zero dollars to police it.
trans rights frankly is a top 5, potentially top 3 issue for me despite not being trans and not having any trans family being bigoted against trans folks not only hurts my trans friends and every trans person but is so predictive of further bigotry
This was an amazing sequence. Absolutely brought the house down.
Olivia Miles goes between the legs on a drop pass to Kayla McBride for 3
Hey, empty threats worked for the ride share companies
Don’t threaten us with a good time!
I am extremely troubled by the amount of standby pay issued to MPD officers during Operation Metro Surge. MPD data shows some officers were paid nearly 24 hours per day for 32 days straight, while dozens were paid 8-12 extra hours each day while we stood out in the cold protecting our neighbors. 1/
The Minneapolis Police Department is on pace to blow its budget by over $23 million this year — well beyond the extra overtime racked up during the federal immigration crackdown.
bruh, you cannot, must not look away when they trying to sell you $31 million in police overtime (to an already bloated $230 million budget), sell you a "mysterious" $30 mil budget deficit and need for you to pony up more cash. You should be outraged. You should demand better.
Minneapolis leaders are weighing budget cuts and a possible property tax increase as the city faces a $30 million shortfall.
Right turns on red should be illegal at every intersection at all times
The Lynx are doing amazing things to get more people to more games this season (opening up seating in the second level)
I’ve heard from a lot of Lynx fans that, despite his reputation with Wolves fans, Glen Taylor was loved for his long time support of the Lynx. Relatedly there was trepidation about the ownership transition. How’s all that going…?
I have not changed about Angie Craig. Interesting that the post I was quoting was deleted. I wonder what was happening on June 15, 2025
I am saying it now, but I will never vote for Angie Craig. No matter if she were the party nominee. No matter who endorses her. No matter who her opponent may be. She is bad and does bad things and I will never in my life vote for her.
Never let someone tell you that you must excuse owning enslaved people or participating in killing Native people because someone was "of their time". Silas Soule was of the same time.
