There are numerous signs & concrete emplacements making it clear that the driver should not have continued onto one of the few bike/ped bridges in the state. There is insufficient funding going towards education + licensing enforcement as the likelihood this kind of behavior becomes more likely.

Holy shit. Friend of a friend encountered a driver on Sabo Bridge today. Driver apparently seemed very confused and lost. Howwww did they get past the concrete barricades on both ends? (For non Mpls folks: this bridge is bike/ped only & paths up are narrow w/ bollards on both ends.)

A car is on Sabo Bridge

The benefits of riding a bicycle are more than cardiovascular. The benefits of riding a bicycle are more than musculoskeletal. And riding an e-bike still gets you those. Getting around your community isn't a competitive sport. If you think it is, that says more about you than about the e-biker.

i had this convo w/ @eriknoonan.bsky.social when they first started at @bikemn.bsky.social. Erik's blog post here does a great job summing up why all bikes are cheating: www.bikemn.org/all-bikes-ar...

Bike/pedestrian networks don't take 30 years to build. Stop accepting those timelines in your community. The best practices have been proven & they already exist. Safety should already be the #1 priority. The ROI is unbeatable. The timeline is a moral document and it shouldn't be generational.

Somewhere on a Minnesota trail this weekend, a very serious rider in full kit on a carbon road bike got passed by someone on an e-bike and muttered the familiar line: e-bikes are cheating. We agree. All bikes are cheating. Literally every single one. Read more ⤵️⤵️⤵️ www.bikemn.org/all-bikes-ar...

All Bikes Are Cheating - Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota

E-bikes aren't cheating. All bikes are. And it's past time that the bike community recognizes the shared goals are accomplished together.

Every paper-of-note has some old white guy who had a moderately successful journalism or political career back in the day. They have a column that is treated as sacrosanct by the editorial leadership or financial owners of the paper. So sacrosanct that any ideas they put forward go unchallenged.

The venture-cap subsidizing of tech goods/services + startup businesses in the '10s showcased that the wealthy could be making life much better for many people. The enshitified consolidation + quality collapse of these services as they try to max their extraction showcases that it will never last.

Prepping someone else for a tabling at a major retailer. Rules included no materials of a political nature. What a bubble of privilege to still get to exist in where someone can think that is possible.

Alex Pretti was shot and killed 8 months ago today after being disarmed by federal agents. The agents then spent the next few hours denying the BCA and MPD access to the scene while shooting at protesters. No one has been held responsible in the killing. chaddavis.photography/sets/ice-in-...

Every time a bikeway is villanized for tree impacts from a project that involves a roadway reconstruction or underground utilities, this is the depth of the logic hole being ignored.

Photo of a hole dug into a roadway for utility work. It's over 10 feet deep.

Elected leaders opposed to adequate funding for parks make it clear that they: 1) Don't go to parks in nonaffluent areas and see the disinvestment 2) Don't talk to the parents and residents who rely on parks programming 3) Don't understand that money can be saved by spending a small amount first
