This is the kind of news that repels dooming
Republicans mightily struggling in New York in a new Siena poll. Kathy Hochul leads GOP opponent Bruce Blakeman 54% to 28%. (She won by 6% in 2022.) Democrats have a 56/29 lead in the generic congressional ballot. (Result was 57/43 in 2024). Trump approval is 33/63. sri.siena.edu/2026/02/03/h...
‘Royal sources’ insist that it’s up to Andrew Windsor to testify about Epstein www.celebitchy.com/960154
This is a harrowing look at Epstein's connections to academia. It shows how Epstein was able to woo high-profile scholars with witty banter, promises of research funding, and help from a well-connected literary agent, despite not having a degree himself. www.insidehighered.com/news/faculty...
Nine More Higher Ed Names in the Epstein Files
Through coffees, phone calls and private flights, at least nine more academics are linked to Jeffrey Epstein in the latest disclosure of documents from the Justice Department.

One of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now
Border Patrol agents pepper-sprayed, tackled, and handcuffed people on the grounds of Minneapolis’s Roosevelt High School on Wednesday—just hours after ICE officers shot and killed Renee Nicole Good. trib.al/hDj7ofo
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you." The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?" "Learned what?" she asks Then he knocks her phone out of her hand
Three Members of Congress showed up to inspect the actions of federal officers in their state and the federal officers drew their weapons?
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents. @zeteo.com
They don’t need to pick apart your life. These kind of folks used to kill Black folks for their facial expressions—for “reckless eyeballing.”
Everything Charlotte writes is worth reading, but please give your time to this. “The country needs to understand the career that Hegseth is so shamelessly slandering in his quest for political retribution.”
"I doubt Senator Kelly will see this blog, and if he does see it, I imagine he will not be pleased with it. He’ll probably find it embarrassing. His humility likely makes him bristle at stuff like this. Well, that’s just too damn bad, Senator."
Trump is deploying his DOJ in a defensive stance designed to protect him at all costs, while calling the files a Democratic hoax. But really, he could do the survivors a great service by sharing what he knows. joycevance.substack.com/p/he-looks-l...
Finding myself included in the Heated Rivalry mix, thx to syntax, wasn’t anywhere on my end-of-2025 bingo card, but I’m absolutely here for it…
An essay by Laura Sackton inspired by Heated Rivalry, reflecting on the complexities of “coming out” as a political/discursive act in a heterosexist world… vs inter-community signaling, recognition, language, intimacy, etc for showing each other who’s family poetryschool.beehiiv.com/p/volume-5-n...

The minute it dies, we hold a national march to scrub, topple, & pave over everything it put its shitty name on. Go full pharaoh and wipe its name from history.
I'd love to see every Democratic state and local official start a Get Tough On Wage Theft campaign. Start doing some perp walks, distribute the mug shots, toss criminal employers who steal from their employees in the slammer. And loudly point out that Republicans are "soft on crime" if they object.
Under the second Trump administration, enforcement against bosses who steal workers' wages has dropped 97%. Enforcement against bosses who put workers at risk of injury, illness, or death is down 35%. goodjobsfirst.org/worker-prote...
And the obscenity of our lawmakers just keeps rolling along…
Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms. 3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers. 4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against. It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power. Story to come.
I cannot comment on Trump’s Rob Reiner post because I didn’t read it. And when reporters read it aloud to me, I couldn’t hear it because I was plugging my ears. by Mike Johnson
