I am BEGGING the state of Oregon to realize that funding TriMet helps downtown recovery. It’s not just transit bringing folks to downtown, it’s also the fact that union TriMet employees make decent wages and those dollars get directly put back into small businesses in our city.

Dispatches from MN: it's getting really hard, guys. The media has left, the donations are drying up, and ICE is still here kidnapping people. It's hard not to be resentful that other people have the option of setting this aside for.other things.

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.

Need to stress that, like the Pretti killing, this terrorism is happening in extremely mixed use residential neighborhoods. Cafes and restaurants just down the street. The St. Paul Curling Club that's put out so many Olympians competing *this week* is like two blocks away.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

welcomes this as a
necessary precondition for nationwide labor and community action against
ICE terror. Our union siblings in Minnesota are leading the way for the entire labor movement, and our union pledges to support fully in every possible way.

Out Of Minnesota
Day Of Truth & Freedom Coalition
1. ICE must leave Minnesota now.
2. The officer who killed Renee Good must be held legally accountable.
3. No additional federal funding for ICE in the upcoming Congressional budget and ICE should be investigated for human and Constitutional violations of Americans and our neighbors.
4. We call upon Minnesota and National Companies to become 4th Amendment businesses, cease economic relations with ICE and refuse ICE entry or using their property for staging grounds.
LOCAL 7901CWA 7901 has endorsed the January 31st Portland event: Labor Says ICE Out! We'll join our siblings in the Oregon labor movement to stand together against ICE terror.
Oregon has seen terror recently with the shooting of two community members and we must act to prevent further bloodshed in our streets from unaccountable federal goons.

The trimet system implemented in the 70’s (that lasted into the early 2000’s) is a great example of local systems adopting international design principles like image based transit navigation, which was created in Mexico City for the 1968 Olympics! Which is to say, I just think it’s neat.

ICE must be abolished. The work of our time is to tear down the system that built it and remake it into one that embraces and designs systems that include all people from all places. This work will be done, because the alternative is unbearable.
