the funny thing about people in the western world being angry at sikhs for taking all the trucking jobs is that people in India are also angry with them for taking all the trucking jobs. It's not you. It's what we do. We are the Truck Guys.

"In Mexico City, a pedestrian activist called Peatónito, a mix of the Spanish words for pedestrian (peatón) and astonished (atónito), is famous for walking over cars. He wears a Mexican wrestler mask, a cape and proclaims himself to be a superhero for pedestrians."

"carwalking" has been added to the Urbanism+ feed. "Carwalking is the act of stepping onto and walking across a stationary car...a response to cars being parked illegally in areas exclusively allocated to pedestrians and a protest against the negative impacts of high motorization rates..."

Awfully white week on @listenbrainz.org this week. That Denzel Curry gets better every time I hear it, Flatt and Scruggs are classic, and this is my least favorite Sons of Kemet, but it's still incredible. I remembered this Lucia being recorded really badly, but it doesn't seem that way this time.

I really don't think the Autobots are the good guys. Notice how you can only be an Autobot if you're some type of wheeled vehicle? Decepticons are all about diversity: you can change into a plane, a boom box, even a gun. Autobots are all about conformity and racial heterogeneity.

Do you know about soccer tennis? Saturday nights are tournament night for the sport on the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone, & these teams are no joke! Nice way to cap off a great day on the people-street. Overheard one family talking about how they “can’t believe how great Granville Street is now.”

The Big Apple bench is going in. The ball chairs that were all soccer balls during the World Cup, now reflect all sorts of summer sports you can watch on Granville Street patios. Tonight’s Dominican Street Dance drew a crowd. And simple games help make the street magnetic. Week Two looking good.

Day 1: "5 (unexpected - this is optional but makes a compelling hook) things in my book" List 'em on the photo/clip or do a carousel with 5 slides and an aesthetic photo related to the thing and elaborate on each thing in the caption.

Mychal sits & shares that Ms. Rachel posted, “Black boys deserve to grow up.” This is not controversial, it is hope. Black library kids deserve to grow up to become Black library grown-ups. Black boys deserve to live in a world where that has not always felt true. Black boys deserve joy ✨

A 1937 ad from the Philadelphia Transportation Company. This picture shows the L and the 10 (T1) on the Market Street Bridge! In the mid-1950s, this section of elevated track was replaced with the Market Street Subway and demolished.
