Earlier this year, E3G released a big report with the Department of War Studies at Kings College which showed that our dependence on gas is a major national security risk. Cutting heat pumps to fund defence is like not paying for a flu jab so you can buy lemsip. It makes no sense.

Absolutely shocking. My heart goes out to any patients and families affected by this.
This has been a hard story for journalists to cover - complex inter layering of science, national building standards, patient loss, staff fear, balancing public right to know and accusations of undermining confidence. Add to that political high stakes, police inquiries. But lessons need outing.
I'm writing my fourth new module in two years and the urge to just write AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! on my lecture slides is becoming overwhelming
This article contains the free bingo square at the center of all university discourse: "The Department for Education said it had 'already taken action to put universities on a firmer financial footing'." 2 years now and counting on that sad, tired, demonstrably and obviously untrue, line.

For today’s @ftweekend.com I am at the restaurant inside the high end Mayfair furniture shop RH London. And it’s chaos. Warm water. Can’t mix cocktails. Run out of hamburgers. Dull food for bored oligarchs who don’t eat. Have a few quotes and a pic of a £22 baked potato. www.ft.com/content/5993...

The magical combination of email notifications on my phone and the outlook email recall feature has now led to me for the second time emailing someone by starting with the sentence 'sorry did I imagine this or have you send me an email'? Love modern technology!

A rich text. Robert Jenrick, who this time last year Kemi was defending and wanted to run the justice system, depicted frequently as an unperson. The multiracial crowd celebrating Kemi, the monoracial one on the boats (are Albanians, Iranians, Iraqis and Syrians black now?)
