I'm a firm believer that if your "straightforward", "simple" street layout requires a 1 minute instructional video to try and explain what the ambiguous signs and all that paint on the road wants you to do, it's not nearly as straightforward and simple as you imagine it is.

I think it's very, very important to not drag people like Laura for engaging in genuine introspection. Accepting that you were wrong and being open about that is to be celebrated, regardless of who is doing it. Applauding people for changing their minds encourages others to do the same.

Visiting the UK for the first time: a culture whose cities are ancient and designed around a human scale v a car scale is a glimpse of what the US could have. It is so much quieter everywhere bc no constant freeway and other traffic noise. Streets are safer. People interact more. ❤️❤️❤️
