part of why the AI market is pushing "everybody is using it, it's inevitable" narrative: I've seen with people in my life the more you lean on it (and a lil bit slippery slopes towards more) it will make you worse at what you're doing until your output is as mediocre as anyone only using AI to do it

Customers are rejecting gen AI art, music, articles, games, scripts, etc if they still can find enough human- made alternatives. AI industry benefits if skilled people lose their advantage and stop providing alternatives. If you have experience doing a skill it will dull your ability until your work might as well be done by an untrained 20 year old asking AI.
