I don't really have an objection to the CEO saying Bluesky is open to all; it's kind of his job to do that. But as others have pointed out, the design of the site means it's harder for trolls/bots/chuds *and also* influencers/hypebeasts to get traction. The "bubble" here is actually normal humans.

in which @annaleen.bsky.social asks us to dream big: “What if we gave public transportation the same amount of money that investors have given to AI? With billions of dollars, what could transit do? And how might it transform our cities and lives?” www.coyotemedia.org/funding-bay-...

A Modest Proposal for Funding Transit Instead of AI

In the ’60s, the Bay Area almost got a high-speed train from Marin to San Jose. What could happen if we dreamed big again?

If anyone here has some connections to publications that might be a) interested in some kind of coverage from Field of Vision (the king gizz festival in denver) and b) has some kind of a budget, I'd very much appreciate any kind of connection to them.

What the Phaistos Disc says. A 3,500 year old clay disc with unknown symbols written on it in a spiral, found in the ruins of a Minoan palace on Crete. It appears to have come from elsewhere and the symbols don't match anything anyone has ever seen. A huge archeological mystery.

What's your personal great white whale of an unsolved mystery? The thing you desperately hope is solved before you die because you need to know the answer? Mine is the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum heist. Where the hell are the Rembrandts. I need the full story

I love y’all but you’re not gonna get cool points or whatever for being like ‘actually Texas is probably a lost cause don’t get your hopes up.’ We need hope to live down here. Please let us have it.
