A trans couple has been brutalized by a mob, and then the trans woman ended up being arrested afterwards, at a public bathroom in Louisiana. EITM writer S Baum investigates this horrible act of violence in our latest piece. www.erininthemorning.com/p/trans-coup...

"“Most people still don’t vote on Israel and Palestine, they vote on their pocketbooks,” said Levin, who endorsed El-Sayed. “But if you’re not willing to say that Israel perpetrated a genocide in Gaza, Democratic primary voters are like, ‘OK, you’re bought and paid.’"

Abdul El-Sayed narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens – despite a record-setting $60 million in outside spending in her favor.

Seriously, if you know a rich person who wants to be free, it's an all-hands-on-the-Titanic moment. Polls look good, but the GOP just began spending, and the media is cooked. It will get bizarre. We need to do what we can this year. MVP acts like a mutual fund to organize where it can help most.

If you're going to give money to defeat Trumpism AND you want your efforts to last beyond 2026, I beg you to consider @movementvoter.bsky.social Let MVP make the case to you that the best use of cash is funding organizers who work year-round to build turnout locally. movement.vote/register/sv7...

As everything seems to crater around us, I want to impress upon you that there is ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO. Billionaires and their politicians want us to believe that we are helpless. We are NOT. If something makes you mad, find out who's responsible and CALL THEM. Tell others to call.

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.
Portrait of Andrea González-Ramírez
By Andrea González-Ramírez, a senior writer for The Cut who covers systems of power. Those physicals, Maria explains, are usually perfunctory: “Like, Are you walking normally? Are you lightheaded? I have never had to take any clothes off. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or violated.” If IL26-638 were to pass and Maria were still in school, she says she would likely drop out of her team. (We’re withholding Maria’s real name to protect her privacy.) “I honestly don’t know if I would be able to do these tests,” she adds. “It would also make me question, If I do it, are all my teammates going to too? Or would I just play with the three or four girls who are willing to or have access to do it?”

the lease on my shitty studio that abby and i have been staying in is up and we're having to pay month to month for one month until the new place we applied to comes up. i'm trying to make it through this month and get a deposit of like 700 together for this new place, anything helps.

my partner was fired last year for refusing to put up with transphobic harassment at work and hasn't been able to find work since. help us both out if you want. these are my venmo and PayPal because she isn't really online

When I was homeless I lived every moment in fear that someone would find out. When people are hostile to the homeless, they are hostile to people who are struggling just like you or I. Any of us could become homeless if catastrophe strikes, and society treats the homeless like criminals.

Other known reasons for detransitioning and/or ceasing medical transition are: unable to afford treatment, scaremongring about side effects, actual negative side effects, being cut off from support (incl. Being made homeless) if they transition, torture (aka conversion therapy).

Willow by the River@geometer.bsky.social · 3d ago

Detransition is almost always a result of incessant harassment from former friends and family members, but it can also come from employers, or from the general public just being openly hostile to a trans person.

This is because domestic violence is a plank in the far-right platform—not a coincidence, not a correlation, but the result of a concerted effort to live and govern such that it is easier for men to beat their wives and children, a goal the far right believes in and strives for

Should the congressman who is credibly accused of beating and throwing scalding water at your own daughter run for re-election? “I don’t know,” says GOP Senator Bernie Moreno www.notus.org/ohio/bernie-...

Love has never needed permission from labels 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 My emptiness of gender lets me see that clearly. Anxiety tightens around transgender lives right now. Why must their chosen bonds still pass through someone else’s gate? Why is the soul they claim treated as a request instead of a right?
