i understand if people are pressured to use LLMs for work. you gotta eat, it's hierarchical, usage may be monitored, i get it. but if you bring that shit home it's different! that actually is a personal endorsement. you don't have to use your own projects to normalize unethical corporate projects.

Here's a real proper pro #gamedev tip. Emojis and all! If you are: - adding a thing to a list in a file (C-includes, list of abilities or enemies, functions...) - and the order isn't important ⭐Add the thing alphabetically! 💩NOT AT THE END. Why? There are three very good reasons!

About 6 months ago, I publicly announced that I would be boycotting #SIGGRAPHAsia 2026. Today, I released a video explaining my rationale and calling on others to do the same, because I believe it is important. Here it is: youtu.be/bZ6s0-EQp8M

I am boycotting #SIGGRAPHAsia 2026 because it will be in Malaysia, where there are serious safety concerns for the LGBTQ+ members of our community, thereby excluding them. I will not attend, submit my work to, or perform any reviews for SIGGRAPH Asia 2026. Yet, I'm excited about #SIGGRAPHAsia 2025!

This is a big moment! I never imagined I'd release a game that would be out on consoles, but here we are. I'd appreciate a little love and re-skeets if you're willing -- Vampire Therapist has changed my life but it's a tough sell of a game sometimes, therapy being a scary thing for many!

There is a pretty good way to evaluate if a producer is good: Are they offloading work from the team and making sure they can focus on the development.. ..or are they making the team do work *for the producer*, e.g. filling out jiras, reporting work, following rituals and procedures.

Josh Sawyer@jesawyer.bsky.social · 7mo ago

There are a lot of roles in game dev where someone bad in a role can do damage, but a bad producer can be so unbelievably damaging that it truly would be better to have no one in the role at all. Just as good producers are force multipliers, bad producers are like throwing sand into a gearbox.

For my holiday break project I’ve been sketching out an idea to help soften the on-ramp for beginners learning D3D12: a header file that (very lightly) wraps the D3D12 API and only exposes the latest/most-useful bits through straightforward function definitions with ImGui-style inline documentation.
