New: here's why a Flock employee quit. Says he was 'lied to' Jonathan Paz's job was to convince cities to buy Flock cameras. But then something changed and he realized he needed to get out of the company. Watch the full conversation here and subscribe for more: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKYY...
"Flock cameras are just one part of a vast ecosystem," @lastweektonight.com's John Oliver warned his audience last night. "Check out resources like the EFF's Atlas of Surveillance, which catalogs each of the technologies used in your area." www.atlasofsurveillance.org/
At least Todd Blanche is someone Klobuchar voted against confirming 🤷
FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.
Also a lot of what people remember as "lockdowns" weren't actual legal restrictions. They were just people being cautious all on their own. Covid was scary! People didn't want to get it!
it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people remember that COVID lockdowns were unpleasant and from there just extrapolate that they were therefore bad policy
The irony and ignorance of a dude making commentary during the lynx fever wnba game and saying “aw man why can’t it just be about basketball”
Hey #MSP peeps - anyone in need of a used top load washing machine and/or a gas front load dryer? Free, they work, we upgraded and want to check if anyone needs them before I post it on Facebook and some scrapper grabs them. I can deliver if it's not too far from the 55109
Minnesota’s Superior National Forest received a $10 million grant in 2024 to cover wildfire prevention efforts, then DOGE delayed funding. now, parts of that area are burning. I spoke with a former wildland firefighter who says the cuts made the fire worse. youtu.be/0cbI9_CNZmM?...

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor
The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

Share Your Story: How Has AI Nudification Technology Impacted You?

Begging you all to please add alt text to your images. Do you give a crap about clearing snow from sidewalks in the winter? Or even having sidewalks in neighborhoods? That’s accessibility. Adding alt text to images is also accessibility.
Mutuals do not necessarily need to be reflections of each other in every way, but just because I do not unfollow you or block you, I can’t/won’t cosign images with no alt text (necessary for so many people for visual disability & not difficult to add quickly) or images obv created by ai image apps.
I know people get super excited about posting things but alt text is still necessary for images.
It's also just wild as a farmer. Nearly everyone who's left of center & wants to do agriculture, wants to do a "cute little farm. Because big farms are bad!!" Thus leaving the actual food supply, AND RURAL EMPLOYMENT, entirely in the hands of reactionaries. And we wonder why we keep losing!
I will just not eat rather than order or accept any food called a “sammie”. It creeps me out even seeing the word. And I will judge anyone who says it or thinks it’s a great thing to put on a menu. All levels of yuck.
What is an extremely nerdy/obscure/specific thing you hate with a white-hot wrath?
@sahanjournal.bsky.social again does a great job reporting. Worth reading the whole article. Note this part in the beginning of the article, with what former St. Paul City Council Member Jane Prince dared to say. I can’t believe she’s serious.
Public officials are expressing surprise and largely waiting for more information to come out after a sexual harassment investigation into St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her became public.
THEY TOOK DOWN THE PHOTO! Thank you all for your support and getting the message out.
My name is Ali Daniels. I took the photo of Liam Ramos, and the PAC North Star Dawn is using that photo in paid advertisement to spread lies about Peggy Flanagan. They do not have my consent to use the image, and I am prepared to take legal action if it is not taken down. @angiecraigmn.bsky.social
Just when you think @angiecraigmn.bsky.social can’t get any lower… she is using that image of Liam without permission in an ad to vilify her opponent. Reminder that Angie voted for Laken-Riley, Angie voted to bring ICE into our community and then she voted to THANK ICE. Liam deserves better
Ok so this lady says solar panels are getting built on "the most productive farmland" in her area. Which just ain't true at all. It ain't true here in NC either. Where I ALSO hear that talking point over & over again. Smells like astroturf! So let's get the dirt on solar farms & dirt ✨
I genuinely don't know what to do about this. In our diseased information environment, one MAGA-adjacent "influencer" can do more to shape public opinion than mountains of studies or facts. Where are the pro-clean-energy influencers to counter this shit?
“There’s a scarcity of good farming” YES YES THIS COMPLETELY YES
There's not really a scarcity of "good farmland." There's a scarcity of good farming. But that's a difficult conversation! And NIMBY environmentalism? That's easy. "Nooo don't build on the field that I don't own, but still somehow consider mine to dictate what should be done with it."
"I just care about the soil!" is, far too often, the hipster equivalent of driving an F-250. They figured out that it's a great way to pose as a Serious Authentic Earth Person, and nobody will ever challenge them on it.
If there's been an article anywhere that rounded up all the allegations (and miscellaneous other stuff) about Mayor Her, I'm not finding it, so I'm going to make a thread.
I’ve been thinking this question since Election Day, but seriously, what was wrong with Melvin Carter? No politician is perfect, but what was he fucking up that made people go hey, I don’t want this mayor we’ve had for 8 years, I want this 1st time mayor who is barely saying anything different?
Mitch McConnell is getting leg lengthening surgery. He plans to return to the Senate in October and 8 feet tall.
Zero idea what to do with the knowledge that Craig booted Her off of the list of endorsements yesterday according the wayback machine. Mostly I think I just really love that the wayback machine exists when I’m in a “wait didn’t blah blah blah”

The issue isn’t a health-related one. It’s an import “violation” from Canada to USA. Looks like BS to me.
