I’ll die on the hill that digital purchases shouldn’t be legally allowed to be deleted, removed from user access, etc because at that point that isn’t purchasing a game or product but rather renting it Once you digitally buy a game or media you should get to forever own your copy no matter what

The way it makes me feel to work at an academic library and be told, over and over and OVER again that I simply MUST use AI because it's gonna make everything faster and easier (I'm told; no examples provided) and then. This.

I abhor the use of AI to cheat. ‘Give me a positive review’: secret AI prompts in publications are effective (July 14, 2025) www.erasmusmagazine.nl/en/2025/07/1... This is why scholarly publishers need to get up to speed on what AI can do to compromise research reporting. @elisabethbik.bsky.social

It extends to a sort of voluntary relinquishment of intellectual independence. Once on the old site I mentioned that I found some recent film sub par and someone said ‘oh wow, I had this on my watchlist but I’ll avoid it now.’ *Why?* You might watch it and decide I’m full of sh^t. You might love it!

The fact that nearly every online debate or controversy results in some kind of brigading—people can’t just have opinions; they have to review-bomb and harass and call for books to be pulled from shelves—makes it impossible to have normal conversations on social media. Everything is a referendum.

The only conversation worth having is how Black people are overpoliced & over-punished & held to different standards in all aspects of life. That there is an outrage when Black people transgress that isn’t there when their non-Black counterparts do.

rehashing something that people have been saying abt e.g. movies for decades but it's crazy how a ttrpg having sex moves automatically gets it described as "niche" while a ttrpg having rules for how to kill other people is so normal that ppl will treat their absence as notable in and of itself

Okay, with the exception of a bouncing ball, I think I have all the sound effects I need for The Mark of the Tulip. Now, when I get properly into sound editing, I'm sure this will prove to be false, but at this moment in time, I think I have everything.

There are TOO MANY serious books on my immediate reading list. SO MANY SERIOUS BOOKS. Will someone please recommend some fun books to me? Genres: I'm pretty game for everything - most of my reading consists of sci-fi, fantasy, romance, and nonfiction disaster books

Private website ownership is not only still possible in 2026 but also cheaper and easier than it’s ever been. I cannot underscore this enough lol. It can be as cheap as 9 a year for the domain if your hosting is free (otherwise can be under 10/mo) and as easy as using a template
