Color me skeptical that Trump listens so closely to Democratic leaders that if they criticize something he’s doing he quickly changes course. But the Senate voted on a War Powers resolution re: Iran. Every Dem, leaders included, voted against the war, except Fetterman. Republicans outvoted them.

i’ve done a couple anarchist projects that were more “social”, by which I mean they were open to non-anarchists being involved. Sometimes you’d get a socialist, or something like that, that came in with and open mind being a better contributor than a self-described anarchist.
I’ve thought a lot about why this happens, and I feel like it’s usually someone whose anarchism is individual. Like, They didn’t develop their anarchism in the context of a group, AG or clique. So they got all this confidence that they read all the right stuff, but never had to build w/ ppl.

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social · 2d agoThe idea that deep institutional damage can be easily rolled back seems like a very odd take for a conservative. The damage to the civil service system is huge, and legislation is needed to reassure future hires they won’t be fired on a whim.
Notice how when members of the Free Palestine movement actually gain power, the rest of the movement immediately turns on them. Their goal is not helping Palestinians, it’s causing chaos in western societies.

Term limits are not going to solve issues with legislators or judges. If you know you're guaranteed to lose your job after a certain number of years, that's just going to make you MORE friendly with the private businesses that can give you a job afterwards.
