State and local tax policy for #CAleg JD candidate at McGeorge School of Law Ask me about my cats All opinions my own 🏳️‍🌈

Haley Stevens was out with a gracious concession and a commitment to support Abdul El-Sayed within about one hour of the AP call in her race. If she can buck up first thing in the morning, everyone else can. That’s actual political leadership.

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

We've secured a $400 million multistate settlement with generic drug manufacturer Sandoz Inc. for artificially inflating and manipulating prices, reducing competition, and restraining trade. When companies illegally manipulate the market to keep prices high, consumers pay the price.

Attorney General Bonta Announces $400 Million Settlement in Principle with Sandoz, a Generic Drug Manufacturer, over Conspiracy to Inflate Prices and Limit Competition

It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.

So, uh, a candidate who suspended his campaign a month ago is winning a landslide against a Trump endorsed candidate because of anti-Muslim prejudice against a guy who is not Muslim (and I guess probably also just regular racism). How often does a candidate who suspended their campaign win?

Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.

There's a kind of person (usually men) who loses a bunch of weight, gets fit, and yet instead of feeling happy or relieved about the accomplishment, exists in a state of perpetual insecurity that they're going to slip up and become heavy again, because they never made any peace with their body.

He will never understand that being "the fat guy from Superbad" is infinitely better than being "the martial arts chud nobody likes"

Jonah Hill says jiu jitsu has him ready to
"annihilate" anyone who still sees him as the fat guy from Superbad
"I love Brazilian jiu jitsu, except my body is begging me not to love it. My wife is often like,
'You're not going to become a professional fighter. You know that, right? You're a comedian"
"If we got into it, I would f*ck you up. I would f*ck all three of you up"
"My favorite thing is people are like, 'Oh, Jonah Hill, f*cking fat guy from Superbad.' And I'm like, 'I would f*cking annihilate you, dude. I'm not kidding you. Try it. If you see me, try it, dude. Bring it. Who's got it?'"

If nothing else, AI companies have dodged a total bubble, guaranteeing themselves steady revenue by making cheating, lying, & hacking much easier so that firms essentially must protect themselves with other AI products. This does not however endear me to the industry.

A story of cause and effect: Last November, Ontario banned cities from using speed safety cameras to issue tickets. Reckless speeding immediately surged in Toronto, Ottawa, Guelph, and cities throughout the province. A 🧵 about my latest in Bloomberg (gift link)

What Happens When Speed Cameras Get Shut Off

In 2025, Ontario banned automated traffic enforcement. Now the number of drivers exceeding the speed limit has surged, according to traffic data.

In other words, going from a constitutional right (Roe) to a constitutional state by state decision (Dobbs) to a constitutional rule of no abortions. What is the DOJ/legal underpinning for that? There isn't one. Ladies & Gentlemen, your lawless soon-to-be AG. www.politico.com/news/2026/08...

Blanche assures anti-abortion supporters that Dobbs will be ‘permanent in every single state’

The acting attorney general made the remarks during a private call with faith leaders.

@drpanmd.bsky.social can't wait for you to get to Congress! Elevating science denial is not a durable political strategy. If there are any short-term gains (a huge if!), the long-term effect will be corrosive. Hold corporations accountable without playing footsie with bigots & charlatans

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@ocasio-cortez.house.gov · 2d ago

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
