Various flavors of covid denialism (lab leak, exaggeration of school closures, pretend ignorance of the reasons for all such things) have become a cult belief among many journalists.

The current fascism is a climate change problem. Both product and driver of. Of course there are many other tributaries. But talking about fascism without talking about climate isn’t really contending with the current fascism.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

The best story ICE could make up, after 12 hours, is that ICE agents shot someone in the head because they believed the person they shot, who was not accused of any crime, was a different person also not accused of any crime, and so "public safety" required killing them on the spot.

It took DHS 12 hours to come up with this statement, And the best they could come up with is that ICE shot and killed an unarmed man who didn’t present a threat to the agents. They know they fucked this one up. And it’ll be up to state and local prosecutors—not the feds—to make the case
