Logged on to a conference talk recently with a speaker who was previously excellent. However this session, they presented ai slop & said it took 80+ versions to get it mostly right. Why, just why?!

Absolutely! I wouldn’t want to raise my kids anywhere but the city. We can easily walk to several playgrounds, the library, parks, rec center, farmer’s market, ice cream store, coffee shop, etc. The vast majority of our life happens 6 miles or less (and mostly way less!) from home.

And bc folks don’t have a model for raising kids in a city, they apply the model they know to try to poke holes at things. Like: “Try getting your kids 3 towns over for hockey practice with a bike!” But… we’re not going 3 towns over bc we live in a city that has everything we need incl sports.

First morning glory bloom of the year today-the rain and cooler temps seem to have made the difference. Plus this morning’s harvest.

A single purple morning glory flower blooming. The white center of the flower appears to be flowing. The flower is surrender by a mess of green and brown leaves. A bulb of garlic, a large pickling cucumber, 5 jalapeños, a large handful of sun gold and black cherry tomatoes and a single yard-long bean on a dark metal surface with visible rust.

I have been weighing what more to say on the news continuing to unfold about St. Paul's mayor. There are layers here, but as a St. Paul resident, as someone who has worked with the Mayor, and as someone who has frequently experienced harassment; I hope the Mayor seriously considers stepping aside.

This is extremely damning and reeks of a coverup. These allegations were filed back in April. #SaintPaul continues to face multiple crises and Her's actions have made solving anything functionally impossible. Our city needs a mayor with integrity and vision. @mayorher.bsky.social should resign.

I have been following the story of St. Paul Mayor Kaoly Her’s repeated sexual harassment of city employees, and in light of this statement it is clearly time for her to resign her position as mayor. This is a breach of ethics and trust, and for Her to refer to it as “attempts at humor” is galling.

Text of St. Paul Mayor Kaoly Her’s statement on the allegations of sexual harassment as reported by Lou Raguse. It reads: “Mayor Kaohly Her: As Mayor, I take my responsibility to treat every employee with professionalism and respect very seriously. I recognize that some of my attempts at humor fell short of the standard I expect of myself. We have fully cooperated with the independent investigation since it began in April and will continue to do so. I respect the investigative process and believe it is important to allow it to reach its conclusion. I remain confident that the full facts will come to light, and I will continue to focus on serving the people of St. Paul with integrity and dedication."

I spoke with @wesburdine.bsky.social in DMs because I am a person who tries to approach privately before going public. He is refusing to budge on the Weiner Wednesday joke, which makes light of sexual harassment. When I pushed back publicly on here, I got sexually harassed by Mark Fangmeier.

This is the worst part about living in my part of North Minneapolis. It's terrible. We have no idea when it's going to happen, and it feels like at least 1/3 of the time anybody has to go further south of that crossing to go to the library or whatever, they're stuck for 15-30min.

When Minneapolis logged data at the crossing for one year between Sept. 1, 2023 and Aug. 31, 2024, they found 559 instances in which the crossing was blocked for more than 15 minutes, 52 times that it was blocked for more than half an hour and 10 instances in which the crossing was blocked by a train for more than an hour. An extrapolation of 10 days of data at the Humboldt Avenue crossing estimated 1,275 delays of more than 15 minutes or longer

I just… look, everyone knows how I feel about the cops, but I’ve also been to a few rodeos. Folks seem to be ignoring that there was a previous non-cop allegation already, and two sexual harassment allegations are like finding mice in your house. Once you see that many there are ALWAYS more
