If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff. Democracy dies in oligarchy.

Went to the Save RIPTA retreat earlier today to talk about strategies for rebuilding our transit system and it’s helpful to be around other people working for the same thing at a time where good things are just being decimated all over.

The assembled group in the room working on strategies to get RIPTA funding

"Clement said the larger issue caused by transit cuts is how it could affect residents’ need for cars and thus the need to include more parking in development." ESSENTIAL read on housing & transportation from @colleen-cronin.bsky.social of @ecorinews.bsky.social: ecori.org/ripta-bus-se...

RIPTA Bus Service Cuts Could Disproportionately Affect Affordable Housing Residents - ecoRI News

Affordable housing is often located near public transit stops.

Thank you so much for amplifying. Dan McKee is mediocrity incarnate who is stifling progress in our state across the board, including stranding thousands of transit riders.

it should probably be bigger news that despite having a democratic trifecta, Rhode Island is decimating its public transit network. Dan McKee is awful and deserves to be primaried (by @helenabfoulkes.bsky.social who has expressed support for funding transit)

A tale of three state capitals: It’s disheartening to leave Hartford, CT & Boston, MA, regions with robust CTtransit & MBTA networks, and return to Providence, RI where RIPTA is facing major service cuts in just a few weeks. 😞🚌

I'm sorry but if you’re a Democratic Governor who's touting a revised transit budget plan that still comes at the expense of service cuts, that’s a step in the wrong direction. Leaving this here for Dems who are still trying to figure out how to win back young voters. 🚌🫏🗳️ ripta.com/publichearings
