I don't expect to be followed back. When I find your stuff interesting, I don't necessarily expect you to find my stuff interesting. That photo is fake. It's not me. But also, basically, it is.

The position “I would mass murder [any group] for any improvement of [other group]” is indistinguishable from Nazism. This is one of the most disgusting political opinions I’ve ever seen posted on this site (though of course the only person who needs to answer for it is the poster themself).

Just to make our position clear and obvious for all the bigots who are going to be seeking clarity and what is surely ambiguous messaging to them: I would happily grind every cishet centrist liberal into catfood if doing so made one working class trans life better.

Hi. I'm HR, a dad and soon-retiring software engineer. I like astronomy, colony sims, and bread with a chewy crust. And that bit near the end of Larry Carlton's solo in Kid Charlemagne where he eases up and just glides home, like a surfer finishing a run still upright.

Hi, I'm John Moe, a writer and podcast maker in Saint Paul. I am married with three mostly grown kids and two nice dogs. I like in "Misunderstood" when Tweedy throws in extra syllables on "Take the guitar player for a ride". Would you like to introduce yourself with a small song moment you like?

One should never label sarcasm as sarcasm. That reeks of insecurity. If you can't live with a small fraction of your audience failing to get the joke, sarcasm isn't for you.

Just had the first of what I presume will be a long string of "my kid opening kid-safe packaging for me" episodes. 8yo saw me struggling with the zip lock on a bag of tide pods and said "lemme get that, daddy"

The easiest part of a president's job is deciding which turkey to pardon. Maintaining good relations with Canada is surely the second-easiest bit. You'd have to be an S-Tier dipshit to fuck that up.

ICE: "We're going to start using torture gloves against the public." Public: "What the fuck, you should not have those." Omaha PD: "What's the big deal, we have them." Public: "what" Omaha PD: "We use them on school children."

The electric shock gloves ICE is spending up to $20 million on are already being given to police officers in Omaha public schools | Fortune

The Omaha Police Department was awarded more than $65,000 for 40 pairs of the gloves in May 2025.

Bluesky is sort of a dark forest for discourse, where, upon encountering a human being, you need to immediately try to take a kill shot. Anyway, please don’t accuse me of plagiarism and demand my resignation because you imagined my anti-plagiarism blog post said the opposite of what it does

Absolutely drives me nuts that the 8yo at the piano will not slow down. Just cannot. When he makes a mistake, he tries again but faster. There is just no talking to him on this. He either refuses to slow down, or flatly cannot grasp the concept. He's a really bright kid. And also an idiot.

Treating any overreach by Israel-critical voices as an opportunity to leap in and secure through trickery some kind of implicit endorsement for what Israel has actually been doing in Gaza and Lebanon is deeply unhelpful. I’d go as far as saying this behavior is symbiotic with the antisemitism.
