🔞 they/them it/its (un)holy rebis, transandrogynous vampire from outerspace, leftist furry in stolen chickasaw territory, brainrotted by Soulborne games, Disco Elysium, Silent Hill, and Deltarune

Bluesky rolled out rules against dog-piling but I think we all understood that they meant dogpiling *by* trans people; dogpiling *on* trans people is still allowed and even encouraged.

can those of you mad because you think trans whining on microblogs will depress support for dem politicians please imagine for one second how dem politicians spouting transphobia on enormous mainstream platforms depresses support for trans people

i call this "neoteny of the oppressed" btw. because children are the archetypal objects of legitimate coercion (violence, authority, control, etc) any vulnerable group can have their autonomy stripped by first linking them to children & childlikeness. the comparison legitimizes any act of coercion

Transphobia and the oppression of children are linked to the point that trans adults are often treated like de facto children. One way we see this is how we’re told continually that we don’t understand grown-up politics, as if our political concerns are childish and immature.

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

Abdul El-Sayed: "Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you've asked about a Twitch streamer ... their whole game is to make us fight culture wars so that we don't pay attention to the fact the president has made $2.2 billion ... "

People miss that part of the reason you deflect on issues to attack an opponent is to basically sterilize the clip so your opponent won't actually show it, assuming the attack is accurate. If he just spoke about Paxton keeping his pedophile friend from going to prison, Paxton can't talk about it!

What's lost in the Talarico stuff is he's now getting asked about trans issues way more since he's moderated on his view, and they're hitting the ads harder than ever right now. The moment people smell blood they want more, the answer is always deflect to an opponents weakness. This is 2026 lol.

See, I see advice like this and I ask: who the fuck has $15k lying around for a new EV? I'm not saying this is bad advice, but I think the people who will be disproportionately affected by oil prices are not the people for whom this advice is practical.

If you’ve been on the fence about buying an EV, now would be a good time to get off the fence. High-quality used EVs are available for as little as $15K or so.

Yep. I've had to explain this even to blue state trans electeds: here in TN, we *had* the rights to healthcare, accurate ID, playing sports, etc. We lost all of those rights we already had! I was one of the last trans people who could get their gender changed on their driver's license!

people act like the fight for trans rights only began after gay marriage was legalized but that is completely ahistorical. trans people in 2026 aren't fighting for new rights, we're fighting to not lose rights that we'd already had for decades

there's so much art around us today and people generally don't have any way to think about it beyond the framework of "genre convention" and "demographic consumption" and "author intention" which is a shame huh

I know trans people are a small minority & it's hard to consider their interests in the broader calculation of your campaign strategy, but you know who's an even smaller minority? People for whom limiting trans participation in public life is a vote deciding issue AND are not locked in Republicans.
