⚡️ Joe Kent says he, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie are hoping to build a new political movement or third party built around opposition to U.S. wars, AIPAC, and corporate money, with the initial goal of fielding a candidate for the 2028 presidential campaign. In an interview with Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks, Kent said the group met at Carlson’s home in Maine after concluding that both major parties repeatedly deliver “another war in the Middle East” regardless of how Americans vote. Kent said they may follow the 2028 presidential run with down-ballot races, and acknowledged ballot-access hurdles may force them to run an insurgent candidate through an existing party instead. “We don’t want Israel dictating our foreign policy. We don’t want any more foreign wars. We don’t want to have to run a massive empire,” he said. Kent said the group has urged Carlson to run but he has repeatedly declined. They will seek to finance the effort through grassroots donations rather than corporate PACs. “The second you start taking the corporate PAC money… you’re not truly in charge anyways.” On JD Vance, Kent said he still personally likes him but called him “a captive of the two-party system” who will struggle to ask voters to trust him in 2028 after defending Trump’s war. 🎥 Credit: TYT @cenkuygur | @joekent16jan19

my hot take is that this is the actual america 250. just a ton of different people coming together, showing people what makes America weird and fun. people being welcoming. and yeah there’s some bullshit too, which is also very true to America! but the good and community far outweighs it rn.

Trump is not just a bad president. He's the Confederacy in control of the White House. Not merely an administration violating the Constitution in this or that particular matter, a regime fundamentally without legal validity in all respects whatsoever. A rebellion against the supreme law of the land.

To weaponize the term "blood libel" to dismiss Kristof's thorough reporting is dangerous. It's insulting to the term's violent history and hinders our community's ability to call out actual blood libels when they occur.
