My lukewarm take re: Power Rangers reboots is that the obvious money is in just doing a new network-budget show OR Phase 1 MCU-level movie that mostly starts from MMPR as a template (bc that's the one 90% of people know/remember) but then does its own thing. This doesn't feel TOO complicated.
This could have been better and more put together, but I wrote this in a hurry at work. Just like the sci-fi trope of using a brain as a robot CPU but despite what everyone thinks, the original personality somewhat remains, but unable to communicate it. Slowly being warped into the new persona.

The failure of Biden and Garland to seriously lay down the hammer after J6 on both the insurrectionists, and more importantly, the politicians who enabled them will go down as a failure on par with the failure of reconstruction. A historic fumble I will go to my grave thinking this.

Democrats have what is functionally a party patronage system where a big country club is pre selected to run for office and use the same consultants, campaign staff, donors, etc. Their worst nightmare isn’t MAGA, it is that system coming to an end.

Moxon@juliusgoat.bsky.social · 2mo agoThere's a certain type of Democrat who has done quite well for themselves, mostly entrenched leadership and consultants, and they very clearly do not want to see progressive Dem victories, because it will expose the fact that their whole triangulated third-way schtick is based on a lie.
The Missouri Attorney General is threatening librarians with arrest over an LGBTQ+ story hour for kids, suggesting that a picture book about gay dinosaur dads is "pornography." The Secretary of State says he'll pull funding if the event happens, citing the state's new age verification law.
