On this Labor Day in the U.S., please recall that we live in an extractive system in which we are a resource to be used and used up. The greatest tool of self defense we have is a union. Man, fuck this entire week, month, and year. Dolly, Tim, and now Peter Cullen? I guess that means all of us they left have to shine brighter, be weirder, and remember to be strong enough to be gentle. But god, it's harder without them.

Texas’s drag ban was found to be unconstitutional this morning and one of the plaintiffs who brought the suit was an Austin-based drag queen who often impersonates Dolly Dolly was named in the final judgement itself and after hearing about the lawsuit, she sent that drag queen a signed guitar

So. I haven't said anything about it because I didn't have any numbers or anything yet, but my car broke down again a couple weeks ago. The worst case (and most likely with my luck) is a $3000+ timing chain replacement. If anyone can help me raise those funds I will be so grateful. Comms are open ⛓️👇

I think that Dolly Parton was, for a lot of people, an ambassador of the "good" values people think of about the South: kindness, hospitality, can-do spirit, sharp and witty and down to earth. I think for a segment of people, too, she was theantithesis of a lot of noxious masculine country stuff.

congress has never appropriated the necessary funding for more than a tiny fraction of the inspections they mandated under law. neglect of food safety policy is a bipartisan problem going way back, but what we are seeing from this regime today has taken it to new extremes.
