The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama. His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful. Now he is tweeting in support of me. This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*. Or used to work.
We need to call it what it is: a president using government coercion to silence voices he doesn't agree with is authoritarianism, plain and simple. It's the Orbán playbook, the Putin playbook, and now the Trump playbook. And it should alarm every American.
IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative. The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.
