This is kindergarten logic. “We like it when it our athletes take a stand for a good cause, yet we don’t like it when they’re bigots or crackpots?” Uh, yes?
Aaron Rodgers spoke out about Dr. Anthony Fauci. Sophie Cunningham spoke out about transgender athletes. Caitlin Clark chose not to weigh in. Three different approaches, one common result: criticism. Steve Buckley on how athletes can't win on social media: nyti.ms/3Sa9A7D
ultimately so funny that rip city mgmt’s approach in these emails was “we would rather die than create a written public record of anything we say or do” and then their lawyer just forwarded the whole thing to the City

I ....... don't really know how to feel about this. Why are they making this so hard? I really want to save the Blazers 🥺 but it feels like they simply do not care.

I've landed on beating the government in court isn't enough. I need to scream in their faces how little I think of them for propping up the regime.
The AP hasn't called either contest yet, but Missouri's Amendment 4 is losing 82-18 statewide and failing in every county with 10% of votes reporting so far. Kansas' Amendment 1 is losing 71-29 and getting crushed in numerous Trump counties with 26% of votes in. These look over
Aaaaaaaand AP just called the Kansas U.S. Senate Democratic primary for Rev. Adam Hamilton, so now there is, indeed, six. Not surprising (he was breaking fundraising records), but notable all the same. (And possibly one more pastor nominee by night’s end — we’ll see.)
"Pastors in Name Only" "Wicked Witch of Woke" “I've never seen anyone commit so much blasphemy against the word of God." As pastors become Democratic nominees — at least 5 so far, and likely one more tonight — their Republican opponents are attacking their faith. religionnews.com/2026/08/04/p...

A ballot initiative that sought to direct 25 percent of Portland’s Clean Energy Fund toward hiring additional police officers failed to gather enough valid signatures to qualify for the November ballot.
Nothing says “public safety” like trying to siphon away clean energy money while I’ve been nursing a raging headache for two days from wildfire smoke.

“'The primary reason the petition failed to qualify was the low number of signatures from registered Portland voters,' an announcement from the Auditor’s Office states." Not beating the Clark County Constituency charges, PPA.

State officials received 97(!!) complaints from voters who felt lied to or deceived by the signature gathering effort. Officials say that’s the most complaints they’ve seen on a single petition since adopting a record-keeping system 7 years ago. And PPA still failed to gather enough signatures.
