If I could take the liberty of quoting, @guyjackson.bsky.social, "India's submission [in the ongoing ICJ case] read from the playbook [we] identify in this article" for @instituteplanet.bsky.social some time back. We ought to hold global south elites accountable for their hypocrisy! #ClimateJustice

Really good nuanced piece by @pkashwan.bsky.social & @praneetamudaliar.bsky.social on the politics and hypocrisies of climate negotiations. Definitely worth a read. www.planetpolitics.org/ppi-blog/res...

English translation: Greta Thunberg warns #COP29 is "about to agree to a death sentence" "The COP processes are not only failing, they are part of a system built on injustice, designed to sacrifice current and future generations so that a select few can continue to reap unimaginable profits."

Feeling the urge to take back control from power-mad governments? Here’s an idea | George Monbiot

I think this election was about a full-throated support of conspiracism and magical thinking as a way of civic life by much of the American electorate, its institutions, and business and political leaders. Not any specific conspiracy theory per se, but the freedom to think magically before all else.

the problem with this analysis is that all of the evidence we have so far is that it precisely was an enthusiastic embrace of Trump incoherent babble

It won't be just the LA Times and Washington Post. It will be your employer, your university, your school district, and your local elected officials. They will all cave and engage in anticipatory obedience to fascism because of their cowardice and greed. Your institutions will not save you.
