Watching cartoons from the 2010s and amazed by what the execs could get away with calling representation. Having the only two queer-coded guys in the show get together for no reason at the end is cowardly writing.

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Tools make your body strong and your mind smart. Servants make you weak and ignorant. Instead of learning to rely on a servant like AI, learn to use tools.

There are so many little factors that go into making the "YT lore community" of Souls games so infuriating (which they get into), but I can't help but to think how it's also the same YT problem where "Everything is an Answer now". Videos can't have a conversation, they have to *correct* you.

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
