Ronald Knox's 10 Commandments of Detective Fiction is really funny because it's mostly "here's all the shit i wish detective stories would stop doing" and one of them is just "orientalism" because detective novels back then loved going "the killer was an evil chinese" (TW slur, it was the 20s)

btw that "Gaming 4 Democracy" thing they showed at Gamescom that's partnering with @gamesdonequick.com is run by a ""non-profit"" that's functionally just a puppet of the German government. Their idea of "democracy" is squashing support for Palestine under the guise of stopping anti-semitism.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear friends of the Foundation,

The terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel and its consequences, which can be felt up to Germany, shake us. We condemn all forms of anti-Semitism and join the statement of the broad alliance, which was published on 23 under the motto “Standing up against terror, hatred and anti-Semitism”. October has called for a protest in Berlin. Jewish life is part of Germany. "Never again" applies now and forever.

The strongest bulwark against hatred and discrimination is a free and democratic society, which, however, also recently gets cracks in Germany, as evidenced by the current center study of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. To explore the question of how games can strengthen democracy, we have on 18 on the 18th. October together with the Bertelsmann Foundation invited to the first Roundtable Gaming for Democracy. We report more on this further in this issue.

I approach my unarmed enemy and quickly unsheathe and sheathe my katana. "Hah. Got you." They check themselves over and find nothing wrong. "Check you're balls." They look in their pants to find everything intact and when they look up I'm lying face-down in a puddle of my own blood.

Did you know? After 20 years and an active competitive scene, a new Super Smash Bros. Melee technique called "Hyper Ground Cancelling Aerial Lift" was found. To use it, hit the X or Y button. It is currently under debate whether this technique is tournament legal or not.

The real lost of fgc culture is a ton of videos or tech no longer have rap or hip hop in the background and instead just the usual rotation of persona or Nintendo music most video editors use.

a Weimar German general said there are 4 kinds of officers. Obv Intelligent and Diligent officers are great, but so are Intelligent and Lazy officers. Stupid and Lazy you can find uses for, but the most dangerous are the Stupid and Diligent officers
