Thank you everyone for your #MARCHintosh 2026 greetings left over #GlobalTalk. I've gone through all of them and looked, so much creativity on display! I always love to see it.
By the end of my first #GlobalTalk #MARCHintosh , visitors had dropped off 25 greetings, I discovered a dozen or so new retrocomputing folks to follow on Mastodon, and I picked up a little over 100 little icon packs, games, and utilities that people were sharing in their zones. [1/2]
The #MARCHintosh 2026 Canvas is complete! Thanks to @kalleboo.bsky.social for creating it and hosting! youtube.com/watch?v=OHbJ...

Post- #MARCHintosh , I thought it would be nice to contribute the game demos from my #GlobalTalk game demo library to Macintosh Garden, in any cases where I have something they don't. After uploading the first three games, I'm blocked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Was I able to join in on the fun? No. Did the Duo 2300 work? No. Did the Mac SE work? No. Did the PowerBook 520c work. No. Will I give up in anticipation for #Marchintosh next year? Also, no.
#MARCHintosh@itsmarchintosh.bsky.social · 7mo agoThank you to everyone who participated in this year's #MARCHintosh event celebrating all things Macintosh! Consider leaving your #GlobalTalk servers up for a few more days to capture any remaining greetings, and keep the spirit of community and innovation in your heart the whole year round!
I spent most of the little #MARCHintosh time I had on a CRT repair job, but got some browsing in before the month ends. It's not the end of March yet depending on your timezone...so maybe you'll appreciate this small overview of what's been on the network this year. tvc-16.science/globaltalk-2...

If there's someone who has contributed to #MARCHintosh and #GlobalTalk in maybe an unexpected but exciting way, it's this week's guest - and his company's amazing printer driver MacPalette II! youtu.be/7RDXNCgyrdA

Okay. 8am on a Tuesday. Let’s try this again. Yeah it was for Bluesky but I decided to strip most of that out of the description just in case YouTube was being like Facebook. #MARCHintosh

In the end, I wasn’t quite able to finish my #MARCHintosh project on time, as my two #OWC 480GB SSDs have been stuck at customs for the past 10 days. So RAID0 is off the cards for March, and the #PowerMacG5 has to make do with 16GB of RAM, a #GeForce7800GT and Sorbet Leopard for the moment.
Still trying to get my Performa 6400/200 to boot into Yellowdog Linux. I think the Sonnet accelerator card might be messing with it?? #marchintosh
A very nifty PCCard-to-IDE-adapter which fits two CFCards directly as master/slave to the IDE port of my #PowerMacG4. #MARCHintosh
Before #MARCHintosh ends, does anyone have any guides for how to participate next time? Do you still need some obscure vintage network hardware or has it become more accessible?

My wife found some 2004-era iMovie projects, and now I'm installing iLife '08 on Tiger to see if I can export them into something a bit more modern. I'd like to keep the transition effects I used to go from DV clip to DV clip. Does this count as valid #MARCHintosh?
109 orders. To everyone who ordered a PicoMicroMac, CatMac case or parts, the new BlueSCSI Ultra, or anything else, I thank you! A great end to #MARCHintosh
As a final act of #MARCHintosh I took the drives and dead batteries out of the two MacBooks I'd been fiddling with. No point leaving the batteries in there to maybe leak, and SSDs are thin on the ground these days! I have notes to reinstall Linux and macOS easily now if I ever need to.
Schedule for the week starting the 30th! One last day of #MARCHintosh as my Powerbook 160 and Mac Mini 2011 get some love and a last WoW day as we run Deadmines after the success of Wailing Caverns on Sunday!
So there's an old ~1992 copy of Inside Macintosh, split into multiple PDFs, at: developer.apple.com/library/arch... #marchintosh
An odd "Mac" for this year's #MARCHintosh. My Atari 520ST running Spectre, a Mac emulator w/ actual Mac ROMs (user provided). Its creator called it 20% faster than Mac Plus, 30% larger desktop. #Macintosh #Mac #Apple #vintageApple #retrocomputing #vintagecomputing #retrocomputers #Atari #AtariST
