I don’t know what to make of supposed “news” outlets like Reuters that report on victims of U.S. foreign policy by not mentioning the cause. To leave the impression that Cuba is failing for no reason, instead of being blockaded, is basically US propaganda. Why trust Reuters?

Maybe a casual interest in contemporary discourse simply isn't sufficient to understand people's nuanced positions. But Maybe discourse through microblogging tends to drift, and people end up defending distorted, narrowed versions of their starting positions.
It's weird when people bristle at the idea of abolishing billionaires. Are you a billionaire? Is your mum one? Why do you care? It would be good to abolish billionaires. More money for public services, less money for them to buy rape islands.
This is a real phenomenon for people with a certain level of prominence. And, because social media operates around clusters of prominent users, lots of people see this in action. But, most users don't engage in a way where they experience this themselves.
