I'm glad to see someone who is not as cynical as me with this take. Season 1 was a delight, but then the show progressively lost all balance.
John Moe@johnmoe.bsky.social · 12h agoI watched some of the new Ted Lasso season and… Was the success of the original series a trauma response to covid? People liked it. I liked it! Original, well written and acted. But did our desperation for kindness and human connection tilt things?
To me the parts where it went too far were largely silly things you could ignore unless you were looking to get mad at something.

In making cops responsible for bad behavior? Obviously not! In holding sex pests and criminals to account? Clearly incomplete, look at the damn White House.
Foreign students *subsidize American students* in addition to making us richer and more innovative by bringing the world's best and brightest here. Just pure Cheddar Bob here.

I can't wait until all of this settles down and we get back to normal. I can't deal with all of these shifts in the very bedrock of society.
