Wrapped up the work on the latest prototype I'm calling KinMerge. It's like 2048 with a light strategy layer, all dressed up with a Dune vibe. It's pretty fun to knock around in, if anyone would be up for playtesting and giving me some feedback I'd be chuffed.

I know prototypes are supposed to be quick and dirty greybox, but sometimes an idea needs a bit more of a visual element. This is the early stages for figuring out my slide and merge dynasty sim - 2048 meets Dune

Alternative headline: Andrew Willson lays off everyone who worked on successful Battlefield 6 to steal all the wealth they created.
Despite its success, Electronic Arts rewarded some of those who made Battlefield 6 by laying them off. It's a different story for EA CEO Andrew Wilson.

Been having lots of fun with Tears of Metal. It's got a bit of Mount and Blade or Dynasty Warriors thing going on, all wrapped up in roguelike runs
Game prototyping is going well, I'm nearly at the point where its worth showing to some people... any devs on here that'd be interested in playing and giving me some thoughts?
Hey friends living in the UK, would you care to add your signature? Fuck these damn data centres.
Microsoft is planning to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. It’ll drain thousands of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

I’ve spent the past months getting back into game dev. Four learning projects of classic games to refresh my skills and build upon what I’d learned during game jams years back. I’m finally out of learning land and today I started proper prototyping on one of my ideas 🙌

Little test in Unity. It's surprisingly painless to get textures from the iPad over to the PC, I could definitely see it being a viable workflow for some assets. If there was too much back and forth I could see it being a pain though.

Looking for work in a PART TIME capacity at the moment, if anyone needs the help of a Level Designer or Unity Generalist get in touch! 5 years industry experience, most recent work was with Bithell Games on TRON: Catalyst
I've been running an indie games studio for 15 years now, and it felt like a good time to boil down what I've learned into 4 pieces of advice: www.pentadact.com/2026-01-08-1... I hope it's of use, not least because goddamn I forgot how long blog posts take to write.
Inching my way closer and closer to finishing this piece! I'm actually pleased with how it's turning out. Also wanted to thank @jakebenbow.bsky.social! I've been using his painterly texture maps and they work so incredibly well! It's been an absolute joy to use. #3d #gameart #gamedev
