It still baffles me that Star Trek Voyager Threshold was ever considered the worst Trek episode. It’s is a delightful sci fi B movie, has an incredible performance from Robert Duncan McNeill and decides to unapologetically go completely insane in the last 5 minutes.

One of the annoying and misguided things about modern fandom - say Star Trek and Star Wars - and they view the lore as something that can only encompass things they've already seen. When you show them something they haven't seen before, they don't go, "ahhh, interesting." theysay, "Canon violation!"
A lot of people don't realise this but in the UK we have to replace our Prime Minister every two or three years or else the rights revert back to Marvel

False Profits is one of my least favourite episodes due to this Voyager trope. There had to be a better way of shutting down the wormhole route home than having two Ferengi overpower a Starfleet security detail and somehow immediately know where the shuttlebay is and not get stopped at all

Louder please, for the people at the back. Poor/bad writing is a thought terminating cliché used to shut down constructive discussion. I’m so happy that somebody (Una McCormack no less) has managed to craft such an eloquent response to its usage.
Una McCormack@unamccormack.bsky.social · 6mo agoAnd l’m afraid at the end of the day I simply don’t find “flaws in the writing” a helpful way of reflecting critically on TV: “What is trying to be achieved given the extraordinarily complex production environment” seems a much more fruitful question to me.

There was a #StarTrekProdigy Art Book in the works. I was going to co-write it. It went into limbo when it was removed from Paramount+ with uncertainty if Season Two would find a home. Then more uncertainty when Paramount was merging with Skydance. If you want it — Trek fans should rally for it!
