This isn’t actually funny but I keep cackling to myself when people say we should pursue AI because it will tell us how to solve climate change. Like, we *know* how, we’re just not. ::burns so much fossil fuel to ask:: hey AI, what do? AI: “stop burning fossil fuel”
Night night sweet dreamies Just a little reminder that all you can do is the best you can do, so don’t be so hard on yourself.
Night night sweet dreamies The things we regret most are often the chances we never took. The roads left unexplored. The words left unsaid The people we never reached out to Have no regrets ❤️
I am once again begging, praying, weeping for lists of written instructions rather than videos. I do not want to watch your two minute video in the hope of catching the two seconds where you whizz past what goddamn menu the thing is under. Write. It. Down.
Tässä on JWST:n kuva yhdestä pienestä nurkkauksesta taivasta. Paria edustan tähteä lukuunottamatta, kaikki mämä ovat galakseja kuten Linnunrata. Maailmankaikkeus on valtava paikka.

I worked on a few fairly prominent efforts in open source (Istio, OpenAPI), but I think of all of them, it’s gRPC that I think has the coolest story. Pull up a chair and set for a spell (any inaccuracies in what follows are 100% my fault for having a bad memory!).
Good morning & welcome to Whiskers Wednesday If you wait until you feel ‘better’ to start living, you might be waiting forever Go live your life Do it sad Do it anxious Do it uncertain Healing doesn’t always come before the experience. Sometimes the experience is what heals you

Hello, friends! After 10(!) years of #AdventOfCode, I've made some changes to preserve my sanity: there will be 12 days of puzzles each December (still starting Dec 1) and there is no longer a global leaderboard. Read more: adventofcode.com/2025/about#f... adventofcode.com/2025/about#f...
We've had an exciting couple of weeks full of opportunities to teach people about the exciting (and mildly bewildering) features of OxCaml. And...we're looking to hire an experienced educator to help us in this work. Please share this with anyone you think might be a good fit!
Have we looked in the British museum to be sure they are not behind the Louvre‘s heist ?
I see teams building massive react apps that could be static and then complaining they need to maintain it constantly. Babes, it’s designed for constant churn, of course it needs unnecessary maintenance work There’s nothing wrong with that, but if you need minimal maintenance, pick the platform
Good morning & welcome to #Caturday You are yourself, and you know what? Being yourself is enough. Send yourself a love letter and then take the time to read it to yourself. Express your heartfelt love to yourself.
I’m not sure I want to know what he’s done this time…
Night night sweet dreamies Some friends feel like home & sometimes that friend can be you The one who lets you be tired & messy The one who doesn’t ask you to be anything other than yourself. Choose yourself, even on the hard days Be that kind of friend to yourself
Good morning welcome to Tippetty tap tap Thursday For today, embrace it fully. Capture the little moments, tell someone you love them, smile at a stranger, and dare to do the things that once made you hesitate.
We've lost so much progress lately. I swear someone is unplugging during autosaves.

There are only two hard problems in distributed systems: 2. Exactly-once delivery 1. Guaranteed order of messages 2. Exactly-once delivery
"PhD-level experts in your back pocket" is a completely nonsensical description of AI but a pretty good description of social media if you follow the right people
If you want a weird but true fact to talk about: Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.
It feels like we should be making a bigger deal of “we actually did in fact find a cure for AIDS”

BBC went from 100s of servers to 12 Insane cost savings and still able to deal with the tsunami of traffic with no risk of failure. Think of the peace of mind it gives engineers and the business!
On this day twenty-seven years ago, I released the first #curl version. I called it 4.0 as I kept the versioning from the previous names.
