I do appreciate the recurring subtext in house of the dragon that Hightowers are easily twice as smart and generally component as Targaryens and if it was an at all a level playing field would be running shit instead of the emotionally dysregulated platinum incest crew.
I just started watching House of the Dragon so I’m binging it and omg we are so blessed to have a GOT showrunner who can actually write. The liberties taken with the story are so so so good.

I think that not only is this good politics, but the stability of American society depends on it. Liberal American normies are out for blood, but *everyone* is in an anti-system mood. If we don't feed that beast some sacrifices, it'll find someone who can, and those sacrifices will be innocent.

George RR Martin just needs to lock in and deliver the beautiful ending everything is pointing to: Jon and Dany on the throne where Dany is the real ruler and Jon is just her man who literally and figuratively cools her down. A more equitable world for the common folk and one where women inherit.
