Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

I’d argue that part of being virtuous is signaling that virtue (in the right way—your signaling intent shouldn’t be “look at how virtuous I am” but instead “look at what is virtuous”). And, yes, I’d also argue that virtue signaling, even when you’re not being virtuous, is better than neither.

People want to be “America is good” or “America is bad” when the truth is there have always been bad Americans and good Americans. Our task is not to judge then lie down, it’s to organize the good Americans and increase their numbers.
So many folks want to deracialize politics (don’t talk about race, pretend it’s not fundamental to people’s lived experience) in order to get to “real” material/affordability politics but that doesn’t work. What does work is *interracializing* politics. That’s where Mamdani’s admin is expert. 👇🏾
