One of the stupidest decisions on #NACC was dropping the investigation into former Commissioner Breretion because he resigned. It's almost as if the government and those associated with this agency are determined to learn nothing from past mistakes. Which means they will change nothing. #auspol

The NACC was asked to examine allegations involving a senior naval officer and lucrative military contracts, but it chose to hand the case back to Defence for investigation. www.crikey.com.au/2026/08/07/n...

“The Albanese gov wrote the verdict into the terms of reference, then spent more than the banking royal commission to have a judge read it back…Commissioning an alibi…Albanese promised it would deliver…’the right outcome.’ A PM announcing the right outcome in advance is commissioning an alibi.”

This is bad news. It means continuation of the situation that either we, taxpayers, have to pay for decommissioning and cleanup or (more likely) it won't be done. Cleanup is the responsibility of the project proponents & should be guaranteed before ANY project can start. #Auspol

"The party has changed, and one of the things that's happened in the party is we are more cohesive, more united than we've ever been before," – Anthony Albanese, Prime Gaslighter. Yeah, shutting down debate and expelling anyone who crosses the floor is bigly cohesive. #AusPol

Genocide, the word Albanese and Wong will never utter

By refusing to name genocide in Gaza, the Labor government avoids the legal and moral obligations that would follow – but not the shame of complicity.

A government official in Australia says the Northern Territory needs data centres to use lots of water so......the Earth's axis doesn't flip

Is there an envoy for DV? A well-funded lobby group pushing MP's into urgent action? Has the PM rushed to accept recommendations made from countless reports, inquiries, and royal commissions? Why are women not worth more than a plan to have a plan? When will a national crisis be declared? #auspol

We need more resources to reach people at risk of family violence earlier: women and children experiencing abuse, and perpetrators who need to be held accountable

And it exists only to serve the 1%. It always puts corporate interests ahead of the people of Australia. I am still angry that it has outsourced disaster recovery work to private corporations that themselves profit from fossil industries.

Our inquiry continues around the country, with hearings in Darwin and Alice Springs this week. It hasn't received the same public or media attention as the Antisemitism Royal Commission, but it is no less important. Racism against First Peoples demands the same seriousness and action.
