Ossoff: "The price of admission to the president's service seems to be proof you're willing to lie for him. Maybe you saw Jay Clayton refuse again and again under oath to affirm Donald Trump's defeat in 2020, or Pete Hegseth ... There's something uniquely despicable about lying a nation into war"

The main way in which AI has negatively impacted games industry jobs is not through actual automation of those jobs or even untrue claims about automation. It's by making capital unavailable because it's tied up in AI investments while also destroying the consumer base for video game hardware.

The point isn't a pathetic lunatic embarrassingly spewing more rambling lies about an election he lost. The point is an entire poltical party lining up behind him, bending the knee, kissing the ass, and selling their souls along with the soul of democracy.

The documents Trump cited don't even make his case - and actually refute much of it. But that didn'tg matter. No foreign regime, no spies, no saboteurs have yet matched the damage that America’s own president just did tonight to faith in U.S. elections. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Trump Just Did More Damage to Elections Than China

His speech was a mashup of charges that aren’t supported by the documents he released.

Four years ago, Biden gave a speech warning about the dangers to democracy and the networks refused to air it because it was "political." I wonder if Trump making a partisan case for relitigating the 2020 election and calling for his political opponents to be jailed is going to be "political" too?

As Biden warned about democracy’s collapse, TV networks aired reruns
While broadcasters typically air a prime-time address by the president, they determined that this speech was more ‘political’ than newsworthy for live coverage

As has been the case for six years any news outlet taking trump live thursday night after he said he’ll lie about the 2020 election and the legitimacy of georgia’s senators is explicitly endorsing that lie as a legitimate opinion

Donald Trump is mentally deranged. He’s a danger to the U.S. He’s a danger to the globe. He does not belong in this position of power—in control of the massive U.S. military—and he should be removed from office. This is not a joke. And his GOP enablers are responsible for abdicating their duty.

Re: *Xbox's FIFTH round of layoffs since spending almost 70 billion on a single acquisition, today's tune of 3200 layoffs* -- I can't shake the feeling today that, while things have been fucking AWFUL for a long time, we crossed a very real invisible line. Idk when the beginning of the end was, but

Microsoft is laying off 4,800 workers today. Its CEO made $96.5M in 2025, a 22% increase from the previous year. Microsoft made $101B in net income last year — and raked in up to $12.5B in tax breaks from Trump's Big Ugly Bill. This is what a rigged system looks like.
