This is a story about the President and several of his hand-picked appointees all committing crimes and blatantly lying to the public while stealing public funds and abusing the criminal justice system, but the NYTimes describes the situation like they're recapping a soap opera.

But everything that Silicon Valley fascists are doing came first from science fiction. We cannot cede dreaming and speculative fiction to the fascists. Call it speculative realism if you want, but there’s political value in going out on a limb to come up with detailed plans.
