Science Nerd that swears a lot with 3 cats and a dog. Raised in Northern WI, but now a proud Minnesotan who’s often too direct for the locals. I’m frequently a dehydrated noodle who forgets to drink her water.
Wow, those are big sweet potatoes. Where are the manatees?

I’m still processing this 2 days later. I was sitting in a kayak when this baby beluga decided to play with me. Other whales joined in and you can see what happened next. What isn’t on camera is that one then started pushing me around the river for five-ish minutes. It was an unforgettable moment.
And this is not the first time here. In 1956 the City of St Paul evicts the residents of Swede Hollow, a railroad shantytown on downtown's eastern edge. 1000's of immigrants from many backgrounds had lived in this place since 1850. The homes are then burned to the ground by the Fire Department.
Convinced Kaoly Her is going ahead with this encampment sweep this morning despite almost everyone in the know telling her to delay because she thinks she’d otherwise appear politically weak. It’s awful of the mayor to put vulnerable people at greater risk just to try and save her political career.
Ugh, my small, independent pharmacy is closing and going to supply LTC facilities only. They apparently sent all of our prescriptions to Walgreens, but that’s the last place I would choose. I switched everything to Cub pharmacy, instead.
Sheesh. 🙄 You get caught in the semi-dark with your hand hovering over your husband’s face while staring at him, and he automatically jumps to the conclusion that you’re trying to kill him. (There was an error message on his CPAP and I was trying to determine if I could feel air blowing out.)
(Now I'm worried you took it seriously ;) ) This afternoon? Sloth. I woke up thinking I was about to be murdered, so I don't have a lift? spring? in my step.
In Germany this is called the otterbahn.
Finally! Steve can get back from the pub safely.
Sometimes I like to imagine she does these things on purpose and is just laying there trying really hard not to laugh. Like in her mind she’s an amazing dog comic. “Humans sleep like this…do do do… look at me, I am a human. I sleep like I am in a coffin…do do doo…”
interviewer: give me an example of a time when you took control of a situation me: no, YOU give ME an example interviewer: lol okay, that was pretty impressive me: I’m afraid we’re going to have to let you go interviewer: *being led away by security* what is happening right now
Unreal moment driving: waiting to make a right hand turn at an extremely busy intersection, couldn’t due to solid wall of cars. A car that pulled up behind me decided that I wasn’t being reckless enough and gunned it to drive AROUND me into the stream of ongoing cars and nearly caused an accident.

It’s funny how much this cartoon is a part of how my brain processes information, and yes, I did think about Chairface Chippendale in regard to this Elon story.

Does anyone else immediately think of The Tick, wherein a villain named Chairface has an evil scheme to write his name on the moon? They stop him 3 letters in, so for the rest of the show the moon has CHA written on it It was funny bc defacing the moon was ludicrous even for a cartoon villain 😑😑😑😑
What it’s like in our home: I was looking around in our kitchen for a small bedtime snack. My husband gesturing to the counter: How about a clearly labeled peach? The only fruit there was this bunch of bananas. (He’s been peeling off and sticking them onto the bananas w/out me noticing.)
I get a lot of compliments on my earrings, and it always makes me feel happy and gives me the opportunity to gush about how awesome the artists are at @peculiarityshop.bsky.social .
The other day at the grocery store I told a woman I loved her cute green shoes, which matched her cute green top, and her whole face lit up and she told me the story of how she bought them Giving another woman a compliment is a great way to get a little serotonin boost btw
This dresser looks like it was designed by Allie Brosh.
I'm sorry I can't go out. My sassy dresser and I are in another argument, and I really have to deal with it before the issue gets blown out of proportion again 🙄
Evening dress, Madame Roger, Paris, 1865 Ice cream? This feels like ice cream 🍨, seaside promenades 🏖️, and Summer ☀️. Needs a parasol though. The size of the stripes took me by surprise, but it creates a really lovely effect. #fashionsky #fashionhistory #dresshistory
What do the safety pin, an early sewing machine, and a fountain pen have in common? They all trace back to Walter Hunt, born on this day in 1796. Hunt held dozens of patents, proving that some of the biggest innovations come from solving everyday problems!
I'm CRYING Rose ordered a pancake meal from the kids menu at IHOP but she wanted it to be "more adult" so they made her a frowny face and gave it eye bags
drunk girl trying to tell her friends that she thinks they are “weekend at Bernie’s” with McConnell, but she has got completely the wrong movie and keeps calling it “doing a Fish Called Wanda” with him and I’m dying
Was just talking with a friend about how jeans, a red checked button down shirt and a newspaper from that day is an easy dead Mitch McConnell Halloween costume and now she sends me this:
