I don't think Trump is going to be able to transphobia his way out of these numbers. He's gonna try, it will be absolutely disgusting and incredibly harmful, and it will fail.

What I can't get over is the Dems out there trying to transphobia their way out of these numbers. Just out there riding the crest of the wave, doing morally unsupportable pandering to bigotry at a time when it is also strategically foolish, just for love of the capitulation game.

I feel like folks expressing bafflement at younger readers approaching prose fiction by skipping everything except the dialogue think this is a problem that came out of nowhere and not a consequence of one's formative media being YouTube videos with 45 seconds of content in a 12-minute running time.
No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, this argument should be chilling. Trying to limit freedom of the press under the guise of national security is what tinpot dictators do. That’s not how a functioning democracy works.
Biden took the short stairs up to Air Force One instead of the long stairs and it was headline news. Trump publicly fantasizes about conquering neighboring countries and their 170+ million people and the news media will hardly mention it.
The fact that they’re only doing this in retaliation for having their access pulled is infuriating.

NYT has now independently corroborated all the major allegations against Susan Collins in the ProPublica report, including that investigators were prepared to move against her and then Trump intervened to shut it down. This put Trump in a position of exceptional and extortionate leverage over her.
