There's an under-discussed link between the 'cerebral' Christian Conservatism of Orr/ Kruger etc, the 'cultural Christianity' of Lowe etc., and the 'Christian' rhetoric & symbols of the Patriot Platform thugs. It's not enough to see this in terms of US influence - it's got a domestic inflection.

So, if I understand Nigel Farage's argument correctly it is: "Everyone I trusted and elevated into a position of responsibility is constantly doing crimes that benefit me but of which I somehow have no knowledge. I am a man with the character, judgement, and intelligence to run the country." Ok.

With all respect to the BBC, the reason this story "matters" is not about whether it distracts from Reform's conference. It "matters" because it is important our leaders are not conspiring to break the law.

Reform UK Conference schedule is extraordinary, esp for a party that keeps banging on about work-shy shirkers and people's participation. Only 40 mins total for motions. Midday start. 5 1/2 hrs of speeches OVER TWO DAYS - of which almost half goes to Farage. Broken each day by a two-hour lunch!
