What bothers me about Bona Books (and triggered my rant) is how, in their eagerness to explain how they bought an AI story but it was totally not their fault the story was just SO DARN SNEAKY, they set up a situation where you prove you aren't a witch by satisfying their (clearly flawed) judgement.

Furthermore, by this publisher's own admission, many queer authors use pseudonyms for their own protection, and some live in countries where queer people are ostracized, beaten, even killed. "Investigating" these authors, and dragging them into the public eye, could very well put their lives at risk
