I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

When I started my political science grad program in 2003 people were freaking out because survey response rates had fallen below 30% and now they’re well below 1%. It might be as accurate (and more intellectually honest) to just conduct simulations with high/low/average turnout scenarios.

What’s amazing about the Telegraph crew is how thin their pretence of believing in ‘free speech’ really is.

This is just a failure of political education. A capable union president would recognize the signs of an ascendant industry trying to colonize and extract value from a public institution and use those historical examples to guide their resistance.

You can look at this and think it’s a funny little aside, but I think this is a perfect encapsulation of how fundamentally the Democratic electorate has changed.

I haven't kept close track for all the Presidents of my lifetime (Reagan onward) but this feels like a lot, right? Even taking into account the paranoia of DHS and the beauty of the way and the goodness of the wayfarers, this is more attempts than a 2-term President normally deals with, yeah?
