Sound artist, musician (piano/fiddle), electronic noise, writer, lefty, trans, lesbo, ex-Texan, there is power in a union, she/her

Art tip: don't share everything you draw. Draw things you never intend to show anyone. Your brain needs time to just exist in a state that's not about performing for strangers. This used to be the normal way to exist before social media poisoned us.

A few things you can never talk about in UK media: nations are recent social inventions, and were a bad idea; 'borders' are not physical boundaries, but capricious, arbitrary violence by the state against innocent people; people born elsewhere are inherently as valuable as people born nearby

I do not understand how there is such little pushback against a worldview that has radicalised white English men to riot in the streets and the state to commit institutional violence against all migrants, so little condemnation of an attitude fundamentally at odds with basic human decency

This is how you end up with people conflating all discomfort with violence. “I feel bad, so I must have been wronged.” That’s not always true. Sometimes we feel badly, and it’s no one’s fault because we’re people and can’t help our ugly feelings.

In Peacewrench 40K, you play a Space Counselor, roaming the universe de-escalating conflicts and helping various strangers express their feelings in a healthy, non hierarchical way. In this RPG Shark Tank pitch I will...

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure there was never a "woke-1" and there isn't a "woke-2." There was a grassroots response to racist police violence, and another grassroots response to the ruthless takeover of the world by genocidal billionaires. ps the phrase "stay woke" is about a hundred years old

words cannot capture my feelings on it enough but if you want to find one of the most magical spaces of your life please genuinely seek out your local music/diy scene it is truly one of the most amazing and healing experiences ever

Supporting your local music scene, going to see bands you've never heard of, bands where you don't know their material beforehand, *buying their merch*, *going to shows* in basements and tiny rooms, all these are effective anti-capitalist and anti-corporate activism. In this essay, I will…

"It’s not asking you to speak up for people you like. It’s asking us to fight for people we can’t even stand. "Because our choice is either we have a society in which we are allowed to be different from one another, or we don’t. And in the latter kind of society, a lot of us will be dead."

1. In an incredible new landmark review, the Health Council of the Netherlands has declared that gender-affirming care for trans youth works, reducing wait times is "morally urgent," and regret is rare. It is the latest of many Euro countries to advance care. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Landmark Official Dutch Review Recommends Trans Youth Care, Call For Expanding Treatment

The review finds that wait times must be shortened, that few people detransition, and that trans youth care has enormous benefits.

The events I've organized haven't sold enough enough for the slight money to even cover groceries. I'm ~$700 short of July rent, and ~$200 short of Trustedhousesitters registration fee, where I could get house- and pet- sitting gigs for August & September. Anything helps! gofund.me/1d4d55f9c

Never forget that they had to spend trillions of dollars, build massive data centers, consume millions of galloons of water and insane amounts of electricity, just to kind of do what you can do better with your imagination and a cup of coffee. That's how envious they are of what you can do.

A lot of people don’t realize the dust bowl wasn’t a natural phenomenon. It happened when agrobusiness interests dramatically transformed the plains without regard for drought, and created vicious dust storms that choked whole families to death. That’s what I think of when I read about data centers.
