Far from being a “stunning victory” that will put him on course for Downing Street, Nigel Farage’s “humiliating and demeaning” performance in the Clacton by-election showed exactly why we are now heading towards the end of his political career, rather than the beginning of a massive new chapter

How Nigel Farage Gets Put In the Bin

The Clacton by-election result showed exactly how it's all going to end for the Reform UK leader

The hounding and subsequent suicide of Jason Arday seems eerily similar to the death of Lucy Meadows 13 years ago! 😞 In fact, it’s noticeably worse - as abundant digital pages are used by journalists & editors as weapons to target ‘uppity minorities’ who threaten the elite “British” ‘status quo’! 😖

I don’t think there’s ever been a clearer example of the British media bullying someone, who was so clearly vulnerable, to death so shamelessly in my lifetime for engagement and clicks And now we’ll have to watch the people that did it claim they’re shocked, and horrified Revolting

From this review- “Think of all the diligent, decent black academics who have been lumbered with the embarrassment of having Arday as a figurehead” - no, think of *why* black academics are held collectively responsible in ways that white academics are not

I think functionally all of the post-resignation coverage that was about him rather than Cambridge was excessive (e.g. this poisonous review of a book nobody is going to buy - why)

This is the coverage of Arday **just in the Telegraph** in the UK. This is only the first four pages of results, just in one outlet.

Staggered and heartbroken that my sole appearance on The One Show, arguing pointlessly with James Cleverly about something or other, hasn't made the highlights of the last 20 years. Yet more proof of the ongoing Establishment conspiracy against me. Perfect TV tonight though, so I'll let it go. *yet

When you're the leader of the Reform party standing against a bin in the most pro-Reform constituency in the country, and you barely get six out of ten votes, then the game is fully up

And, of course, there’s a real chance of *another* by-election in Clacton sooner rather than later. The egotism involved is off the charts. I do wonder whether people who voted for him this time might tire of indulging it.

And now the investigation into the £5 million secretly-gifted by an ‘economic migrant’ recommences. If nothing else has been achieved with this daft by-election, the idea that Farage is some sort of master strategist has been put to bed. It’s easy to look good when you’re getting free passes galore.
