"On what basis would France refuse a humanitarian operation to save lives?!" Reform's Laila Cunningham responds to France's suggestion that her party's plan to stop Channel crossings would violate its sovereignty and breach international law. #Newsnight

I have read Joshua Bonehill-Paine’s blogpost from April entitled “Inside the Mind of an Antisemite -and How I Escaped It”. It’s a fascinating account of being consumed by hateful, extremist ideology. You know what’s not in there? An apology. To Luciana Berger or the wider Jewish community

It probably won't happen but the prospect of Badenoch leading a Tory general election campaign is a joy. Every time she leaves X and enters the real world, she is hilariously inept and crass.

I'm delighted to hear that BP doubled their profits, making £4.2bn in just 3 months. Not that I have any vested interest in it, other than the £50,000 given to us by the wife of former senior BP executive James Hay.

More questions over Farage's £5m gift... Daisy Cooper, deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats: “With every new revelation, Reform UK and Nigel Farage look more and more like a bunch of grifters who believe it’s one rule for them and one rule for everyone else."

Yep. Not many independent vets left now. So many people don’t realise that their vets practice is now corporate. They keep the old practice names to mislead. Pet owners are now being fleeced on a daily basis. The insurance doesn’t even cover all of the costs. It’s a bloody scam.

People can look closer to home at what has happened to their vet bills. Indy vets bought out by huge US companies who also own the pet insurance companies that they have convinced everyone to buy. Same model.

All of them are the same, they are backed by private healthcare companies so it benefits them to demand the removal of the NHS, already profitable sections have been sold off to private companies. I agree, we just need to look at the US to see the right are spreading lies, lies we can't afford.

Solar panels are going up on schools across the country - including Bristol’s own Avonmouth Primary. This Government is taking practical action to help schools generate their own clean electricity, reduce energy costs and support our transition to net zero.

A few weeks ago John Healey resigned from Starmer's cabinet because he was unhappy with defence spending. He's now Chancellor in Burnham's cabinet, begs the question why his first policy announcement hasn't been to increase defence spending. Maybe his resignation wasn't about spending, who knew.

Booker: "Ghislaine Maxwell is sitting in the lowest possible confinement after giving no information that helped us get one more investigation started and has been silent, and the man responsible for that we're about to make the attorney general of the US ... this is farcical."
