I know a lot of the focus here has been on the Dems who voted not to cut aid to Israel but I think “the majority of the caucus voted to cut aid” is a monumental sea change in Dem politics and the movement here is only going in one direction this is the most Dem support Israel will ever see again

my kids’ generation thinks about gender differently from mine. it’s completely normal to them that gender is fluid. to try to legislate that away is telling the tide not to come in. it’s a sort of societal immaturity I’d hoped we’d have grown out of

100% agree with this take on Platner's institutional supporters. I am especially shocked and saddened by @warren.senate.gov's role in promoting him, not because she was the most culpable but because I admire(d) her so much.

i have been trying to unpack why the i told you so’s here feel so legitimate despite the horrific seriousness of the allegations. i think bc it’s so enraging that he was allowed to make it this far. that poor woman was forced to traumatize herself in public because pundits are too fucking stupid

Torn between: It would be nice if we could care that this is happening to trans girls without immediately pivoting to centering cis people And Anti-trans legislation is absolutely being used as a Trojan horse for wider restrictions on all girls/women and we need to be screaming about that

This is a reminder that some schools have already begun closing girls’ athletics teams because the requirement to verify gender was too onerous. Even just a form signed by a parent confirming their child’s gender identity is a barrier beyond what boys are required to do to play sports.
